A Brief History Of The Electric Guitar

The Electric guitar hasn’t been around nearly as long as the Acoustic and Classical guitars. In fact, the Electric guitar was created just 70 years ago (the 1930s) by Adolph Rickenbacker. Since that time, the Electric guitar has greatly evolved to the where it is today. In this article, we’ll go over the history of the Electric guitar.

The History

Guitars, or similar instruments, have been around for thousands of years. The Electric guitar was first manufactured in the 1930s by Rickenbacker. Original Electric guitars used tungsten pickups. Pickups basically convert the vibration of the strings into electrical current, which is then fed into the amplifier to produce the sound.

The very earliest Electric guitars featured smaller soundholes in the body. These guitars are known as semi-hollow body Electric guitars and still are somewhat popular today, mainly due to the fact that they are flexible guitars.

However, with the use of pickups, it was possible to create guitars without soundholes (like the Acoustic and Classical guitars have) that still had the ability to be heard, if plugged into amplifiers. These guitars are called solid body Electric guitars.

The Electric guitar’s popularity began to increase during the Big Band era of the ’30s and 40s. Due to the loudness of the brass sections in jazz orchestras, it was necessary to have guitars that could be heard above the sections. Electric guitars, with the ability to be plugged into amplifiers, filled this void.

The Electric guitar that is most prevalent today is the solid body Electric guitar. The solid body guitar was created by musician and inventor Les Paul in 1941. It is a guitar made of solid wood with no soundholes. The original solid body guitar created by Paul was very plain–it was a simple rectangular block of wood connected to a neck with six steel strings. Les Paul’s original solid body guitar shape has, of course, changed from the original rectangular shape to the more rounded shape Les Paul guitars have today.

During the 1950s, Gibson introduced Les Paul’s invention to the world. The Gibson Les Paul, as it was and still is called, quickly became a very popular Electric guitar. It has remained the most popular guitar for 50 years.

Around the same period of time, another inventor named Leo Fender came up with a solid body Electric guitar of his own. In the late 1940s, Fender introduced the Fender Broadcaster Electric guitar. The Broadcaster, which was renamed the Stratocaster, was officially introduced to the public in 1954. The Strat, as it is now known, was a very different guitar in comparison to the Les Paul. It had a different shape, different hardware and was significantly lighter. Fender’s Stratocaster Electric guitar is the second most popular guitar in the world, second to only the Les Paul.

Over the years, other companies, such as Ibanez, Jackson, Paul Reed Smith, ESP and Yamaha have all produced solid body Electric guitars of their own. However, most Electric guitars still feature the familiar shape of a Les Paul or Strat guitar.

because light is actually a very strange phenomenon. The reason being is because light is waves, but has also been proven to be particles. but these particles can travel through void, all types of waves and particles can travel, we have radio waves and ultra violet waves, that is why we can get transmitions from our satellites and get cancer from the sun. that is like asking why there is any type of particle moving through a void, such as how can there be planets in a void, because technically we are all in a void. The only thing that nothing, not even light can travel through, is a black hole, this takes in and, doesn't destroy, but disperses all atoms and waves into very seperate and singular particles, everything is split as small as it can be in a black hole, but anything can travel through a void, even air can, but this air gets dispersed throughout the infinite miles of the universe.
the reason why waves are not dispersed, such as light, is because these have different properties than particles, and travel in a straight line, but curving up and down the whole time
like a wave at the beach, all the waves go straight for the beach, but they move up and down
they just travel through because that is how they were made

This is, in some ways, may be a misunderstanding of what pickups do. Pickups don't pick up "tones" per se. Each of the pups pick up the vibrations of the strings directly above where they are situated. For example, the bridge pup doesn't pick up more "trebly" tones, it picks up the vibration of the strings directly above it, which happens to be closest to the bridge. Due to the dynamics of string vibrations, (i.e. the part of the string that is closer to the bridge doesn't travel as far when it vibrates), this sound happens to be more "trebly" compared to the part of the string closer to the middle of the guitar (assuming we agree on the meaning of the word "trebly"). Try plucking a guitar string directly above the twelfth fret and comparing that sound to the one you get when you pluck the same string right beside the bridge. You'll get some idea of what I'm talking about.

Toss into the mix the difference in pickups generally (i.e. winding, size and type of the magnet), how they're mounted (i.e. are they set up properly in relation to each other), etc. and the answer is: "it depends".

The simple answer is that the electorate is getting much better information. In the old days, parties were a way to tell the voters how to vote, and why. In fact, it was about the only way. Heck, some voters could barely read in the 19th century.

Now, with radio, television and eventually the Internet, voters can see candidates for themselves and make up their own minds. That makes them more independent.

It does take a personality to get people enthused this way ("I really like John Doe"), and that may have hurt the voting numbers. People don't vote the straight party line out of habit; they need a reason in some cases to go vote.

It could be a tension headache, but the neck pain worries me.
I'll give you some warning signs to look for:
Pain behind the eye
Dilated pupils
Behavior changes
Inability to focus
What you could classify as the "worst headache of your life"
These are symptoms of a ruptured cerebral aneurysm, which is extremely life-threatening.
An aneurysm that has not ruptured can cause pain, slurred speech, confusion, certain stroke symptoms…
If this pain has been going on for two weeks, I would definitely go to the emergency room to get a CT scan.
Headaches can be benign, or they can be killers.
You have what is characterized as a secondary headache, meaning that it may be organic in origin.

How should Jews respond to an angry movement whose candidates include full-throated supporters of Israeli West Bank settlements; others who would end foreign aid, including to Israel; one who excoriates church-state separation as a Nazi invention, and others who urge setting aside such divisive social issues to focus on fiscal conservatism and radical government cutbacks?

This document summarizes the initial research for adding distributed version control as an option for Google Code. Based on popularity, two distributed version control systems were considered: Git and Mercurial. This document describes the features of the two systems, and provides an overview of the work required to integrate them with Google Code.

No! Why would it void your warranty… the only warranty it would void is any changes made at the area it is installed. (that may be wiring) I put them in my cars (not by the dealer) and have never had a problem with warranty. (and the dealer know it is there as they are not hidden)

Filed under: Truck, Recalls, Safety, Work, Chrysler, Dodge According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Chrysler is recalling model year 2008-2011 Dodge Ram 4500 and 5500 Heavy Duty trucks. The culprit is apparently the left ball stud on the tie rod that could weaken and potentially fracture, which could result in a loss of steering control. As NHTSA plainly states, “loss of steering control of the vehicle could increase the risk of a crash.” And that’s a bad thing. Directions on contacting Chrysler or NHTSA can be found after the break, and, of course, the automaker will be fixing affected models free of charge.
