British Gas: Electric Smart Meter

 Electric Smart Meter

Electric Smart Meter differs from the common electric meters in many and different ways. The new and innovative electric smart meter has been surrounding the energy supplying industry for about two years now. Many thought that this new way of reading your electricity consumption was simple another fast track and tool for energy companies to extract a bit more money from their customers but they were wrong.

The electric smart meter was actually starting to be given away on 2009 for free by companies such as British Gas. Many clients have already applied for their electric smart meter and are now very please with their choice. The main reason why electric smart meter differs from the regular one is that is just simply saves you money and entices you to decrease your energy consumption.

The reader is updated every fifteen minutes and is connected directly to the energy company. That way both customer and supplier can now live upon their energy consumption and what exact amount is going to be charged at the end of the month.

It also allows you to have visible on your computer or cell phone the amounts of energy you have been spending throughout the day and if by any chance you left something on, you can easily switch it off by cutting the down the energy supplier directly onto your electric smart meter.

If you are in a tight budget this months it also provides to its users for a better control and management on how much money they wish to spend on electricity per day.

Photo via PG&E The small town of Fairfax, just north of San Francisco, California, is hoping to stop or at least put a pause on Pacific Gas & Electric’s smart meter installation project planned for July. The town council is raising concerns over the possible health risks presented by smart meters, saying that they could be worse than having cell phone towers nearby. But that’s not their only complaint about the smart meters. …Read the full story on TreeHugger

why all the hateful comments? This is a real eye opener, technology crept up on us and it’s great to reflect on how it actually changed the learning process of newer generations. “You have to embrace these and bring them to school spaces” referring to new media.

Pretty Good, but I think the story line falls too much alike The Vampire Diaries. Try to make a completely original story.

They are designed to extract more money out of your pockets to charge excessive rates between 8 and 10 AM and 6 and 9 PM, you will not benefit from any cheaper rates than on the old flat rate mechanical meter.

I'd suggest that you call the power company and ask them to get your records straightened out already. Then pay them what you owe, and be done with it already.

They can bill you whenever they feel like it, even if they lost your records and then recovered them. It's easy enough to figure out approximately how much power you've used and, at least in the United States, the law typically rules that you must pay the utility company's estimated charges.

It sounds good! and makes sense but how much do you know about the Roswell crash? That story doesn't correspond with some of the facts.
Also, when the Gray says "HUmans or aliens" wouldn't he mean, "Grays or aliens" as humans are aliens to him?
I think it's an amzing idea ad well written. Good luck with writing it.
