Harness the Power of the Sun With Solar Electricity

The sun is an extremely bountiful source of energy. It doesn’t just warm our earth, and is the source of life, but you can also harness its power for our own personal use in the form of solar electricity. With the technology available today, it’s possible to not only power your calculator, but you can now harness enough solar energy to power your workshop, or even your entire home.

Solar electricity offers many unique advantages over your typical grid style electricity supplied by the utilities companies. For example, solar electric systems can be uniquely designed for specific applications, such as in remote locations where other forms of electricity are not available.

Something else to take into consideration is that the typical photovoltaic cell has no moving parts, hence the ease of maintenance. Plus, most solar panel systems are modular so you can expand as the need arise, and this also makes them portable so you can take them with you if you move.

Solar electricity isn’t just about convenience. It’s also about helping the environment, and solar power is one of the cleanest around. You don’t generate pollutants with solar panels, and you don’t generate any noise. You can’t get any more earth friendly than that.

Solar electricity also provides a sense of independence. For example, if you live out in the country and your home is powered by a solar panel system, you don’t have to worry if a storm knocks out the power. You’re covered, and your lights won’t go out. You’re not waiting around for the electric company to fix the power lines like the rest of your neighbors.

Even if you live in the city, the same thing can happen where your neighborhood experiences an outage. You don’t have to worry about it because your solar power system is providing all the electricity you need. Maybe you’re friends and neighbors will come over and watch TV with you while everyone else is stuck in the dark ages, eating their dinner by candlelight.

But, solar electricity is not just about having power when no one else does in the case of a black out. It’s also about sticking it to the electric companies who have been sticking it to us for years by charging outrageous prices for their services. If your solar electricity system provides enough power to send the excess back to the grid, it’s the electrical companies who’ll have to pay you for a change.

So what’s keeping you from making the switch? Your answer is probably the cost of a solar electricity system. I definitely understand since a set of solar panels can cost in the thousands of dollars. This can be too much for the financially strapped homeowner, especially in the current economic climate.

However, to this I say that the average solar panel system for the average home user, who pays about $100 per month on their electric bill, can see a return on their investment in about 5 years. I know that’s a long time to wait for a return on investment, but most people live in their homes for longer than 5 years, and anything after that is money in your pocket.

Even so, that still sounds pretty expensive. How about if you could reduce the cost of owning a solar electricity system, would you be interested? It’s possible if you choose to build your own.

Fortunately, there are plans available to help you build a solar panel system that’s completely modular and expandable. That means that you can build as many units as you need to supply solar electricity to power a few appliances, or power tools, or to power your entire home getting you completely off the grid. And, because it’s modular, this also makes it portable so you can take it with you if you ever move.

What’s even better is that you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on this system. In fact, these solar panels can be made for under $200 with parts you can find at your local hardware store.

The sun is a gift, and we should use this gift as more than just a way to get a tan in the summer. We can use it to provide power for our homes, thus weaning us away from the destructiveness of fossil fuels. The great thing is, by building your own solar electricity system, you’ll save thousands of dollars, and you can start taking advantage of this precious gift. Take some time to learn more about solar electricity and how you can eliminate your reliance on the utilities companies, and get rid of your electric bill for good.

Professional solar power systems can cost thousands to be installed. Who has money to spare in today’s economy? Make the choice to go “solar” today, and learn how to build you build your very own solar panels [http://renewableenergyathome.info]. You’ll be saving money, and the environment.

Our Small Wind Turbine kits have both wind and solar as a hybrid energy kit. Solar never charges at night or on cloudy days. Wind power kits are a great way to reduce or eliminate your home energy bill. Most people are going grid-tied and making the utility buy back the unused energy made from their windmills. Home wind power kits can be installed on a roof or in the yard of your home very easily. Small wind turbines are rapidly spreading across America combined with solar.

Not only do they look hideous, it is not efficient energy wise. It would take five years for you to recover the energy it takes to make the solar panels. Not only that, it costs way too much right now. It would take 15 years for you to save the money you spent from buying them. That is why they belong bought by our government and placed in the open desert owned by our government (or also on city lights etc).

If you are looking for the cheapest electrical power available solar panels are not going to be what you want.

Roughly solar panels will supply electrical power costing about 3-10 times more than what you can purchase from your local electrical company when averaged over the 20-25 year life of any solar panels.

Go look at how much you spend for your electricity in a single year. Then go look at how many solar panels you can purchase for this amount of cash (In my case I spend about $1000 each year for power).

This means that economic "sense" must be tempered with some other desire for the solar panels.

I came accross a new, proven and tested home made wind power system and solar power system which eliminates our electricity bills. It was written by a Renewable energy enthusiasts Michael Harvey the diy called Earth4energy. You can get your copy to save energy and help environment while eliminating your power bills. Get it from here:

Has the power that those panels output decreased since you got them? I heard that the panels produced by topray solar decrease power over time and sometimes fail.

check out the BP solar energy web page not only do the sell the equipment they have a calculator function that can help you determine what number of panels etc you need there is a lot of difference in a stand alone system and a grid system for most cases a grid tie system is the cheaper and better choice this type system can be built with generator or battery backup but with your house tied to the grid the grid is in effect your back up as for price a 100 watt panel can be had for around 250 U.S.
