The following are a few snippets that can be heard in conversations everywhere these days:
“The price of gasoline has gone up again this week.”
“Yes sir, I doubt that we will ever see the prices of a few years ago again.”
“I got my electric bill from the power company yesterday and it has gone up some more.”
“Yes, I got mine too. I believe that the power company is ripping me off. I just don’t know what to do.”
“I heard that Joe down the block is installing a solar electric panels system in his house.”
“I wonder if that is worth looking into?”
The short answer to that last question is “yes”. Millions of people worldwide are implementing solar electric panels in their homes. Solar power generation is clean and it can save loads of money on electric bills.
Implementing solar panels can be a great choice for a lot of people. Before deciding on using solar electric panels, research and planning is required. All situations are unique and different questions must be asked and answered.
The following questions and answers are by no means all encompassing. Hopefully these are some that can help and will put you on the right track to finding the answers that you need.
1. How much of my energy needs can be provided by solar electric panels?
The simple answer to how much can solar electric panels can provide of your electric needs depends on how much space you have and how much you are willing to invest.
2. Will I still need my power company if I have a system that covers all of my electric needs?
It depends on your state. Some states require that you remain connector to the power company’s grid to be eligible for state tax incentives. The excess electric power that you produce is sent to the power company and you are given credit for it. The power company acts as an “electricity bank”, giving you credits and debits.
3. What happens if I produce more electricity with my solar electric panels system than I am using?
Any energy that you produce during daylight hours that is over and beyond what you use is sent back to the electric company and is considered a credit. Usually these credits are used during night time hours when your solar electric panels system is not producing electricity.
4. Will I be able to take advantage of tax breaks for using solar electric panels?
Yes. You need to check with your state to see what credits they give. As of January 1, 2009 the federal tax credit on solar power installation amounts to 30% o the installed cost o the system.
5. How long is a typical solar electric panel’s power system designed to last?
Solar power electric technology has come a long way in the past few years. Most solar electric
Panels are designed to last 30 plus years making this one o the best investments that you can make.
Making the decision to change your power needs from fossil fuels to solar electric panels can be a wise choice. It can be helpful to the environment and save you lots of money.

What is the angle of incidence, relative to the normal. It will be the inverse tangent of (2.7/1.2) = 66 degrees. Water has a refractive index of 1.33, so we must use Snell's Law to calculate the angle of refraction.
n1sin(θ1) = n2sin(θ2), where n1 = 1 is the refractive index of air, n2 = 1.33 is the refractive index of water and θ1 = 66 is the angle of refraction. Solve for θ2. I'll leave that as an excercise for you but you should get θ2 = 43.4 degrees.
Now you must calculate the horizontal distance the light travels in the water. Call it x.
tan 43.4 = x/2.5, so x = 2.5tan43.4 = 2.4 m. To get the total distance to the edge you must add the 2.7 m that the light travels horizontally in the air to get 5.1 m.

auto-quote: Are you having trouble selling your house in this down economy? With the steep competition and each seller trying to make sure that their home is the one that buyers want it is important to do everything that you can do to get the edge over your competition homes. Here are a few simple steps that you can take to make your home stand out among the crowd.
The first thing that people notice when they come to look at purchasing your home is the exterior. It is the first impression that buyers notice and you should do everything that you can to make that impression a good one. A few dollars spent on renting a power washer can do wonders for your exterior. Wash away all of the dirt and grime that builds up over the years on the siding and windows of homes. Give it a fresh face to greet the potential buyers with. Also make sure that the trim and doors and shutters are all in good repair. If the paint is chipping or one of the shutters is broken make sure that you fix them. If buyers see a To Do list already forming before they even see the interior of the home it may make them wary of what to expect.
While you love your purple bedroom and bring yellow kitchen it may not be everyones style. Painting in neutral colors will let potential buyers see their own style in your space instead of being overwhelmed by your personal style. This does not mean that you need to paint every room white, but you should choose neutral colors that are pleasing to the eye.
The two rooms in a house that are huge selling features are the bathroom and the kitchen. If your fixtures are outdated in your bathroom you might want to consider an upgrade. If the fixtures have begun to rust or have lost their shine you should definitely consider replacing them. You want to do everything you can to make your kitchen and bath look clean and appealing. No one wants to think about showering in a tub that is dirty or eating in a kitchen that is not clean.
If you have a garage make it neat and organized. If a buyer comes in and sees that the garage is overflowing or unorganized they may assume that there is not enough storage space inside the house. The buyer want to see the usable space and if that is covered up with clutter they may be unable to picture themselves living there.
Another thing that you want to do is to make sure that the yard is tidy. Trim the trees and bushes. Cut back the weeds that have begun to grow over the walkway to your front door. Replace the mulch in your flower beds to make them more appealing. Make the space inviting to the buyers that will come to see your home.
These are just a few of the things that may make it possible for you to sell your home in this buyers market for a good price. You want to give yourself any advantage that you can. So make sure that your home is inviting and hopefully someone will come and see it as their dream home.

When Andy Warhol, Barbie and pop culture meet at Royal/T, the rest of the art world benefits.
It’s no surprise that The Warholian, an exhibit in the spirit of pop icon Andy Warhol, lives at Royal/T with all of its nods to pop, plastic and an alternate fantasy world.
Upon entering the space, I couldn’t help but notice the myriad of colors as I observed paintings of nurses, magazine pinups of Elvis Presley a quote from Barbie emblazoned on glass when you first walk in: “Plastic is Fantastic.”
The exhibit, which runs through January 2011, consists of art from private collections and curator Eric Shiner; he is also the curator from the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh.

It is still posssible to get capped rates, not just from British Gas but from other suppliers as weel.
Considering the sharp increases it seems like the sensible thing to do.
