The Electric Guitar How To Buy The Right One

One of the most challenging tasks facing any guitarist is selecting the right electric guitar for their musical needs. Whether you are young or old, a beginner or a master musician, there is no sound in the world like a finely tuned electric guitar. The thing is that it can be overwhelmingly difficult to choose the right guitar.

The basic construction for a guitar is the same for almost all of the different types of guitars. All electric guitars are comprised of the same parts: a body, a neck, a head stock piece, electrical pickups and a bridge.

Unlike an acoustic guitar, electrical guitars require an amplifier to broadcast the guitar’s sound. The sound for an electric guitar is generated when a musician plucks the strings and the vibration of the strings is transmitted through the pick-ups to the amplifier.

Now, there are two very important considerations when purchasing the perfect electrical guitar: price and sound.

Electrical guitars can be priced as low as ninety-nine dollars all the way up to twenty thousand dollars, so knowing your budget is crucial. A beginning guitarist should look for starter kits that will include a guitar, amplifier and some instruction books.

Electric guitars are divided into four different categories: Acoustic-Electric, Electric, Hollow Body Electric and Steel Electric and each one is designed to generate a different sound.

Acoustic-electric guitars are acoustic guitars with pick-ups installed so that they can be wired into an amplifier or a public address system. These are some of the most popular types of guitars for touring bands as they are well built and last a long time.

An electric guitar is typically made of a solid wood body and sound is only generated through the pick-up system. An amplifier is required to increase or decrease volume. These are the most popular models of guitars for beginning enthusiasts and prices can range from $99 and up. Most manufacturers like Fender and Gibson have beginner electrical guitar kits that come with a guitar, an amplifier and training manuals to get started.

A hollow body electric guitar is constructed in the same way as a traditional electric guitar with one exception. A hollow-body guitar has 2 chambers cut out of the body. The end result is that the guitar generates additional sonic resonances because of the chambers and delivers a completely unique sound. These guitars are most often played by Jazz enthusiasts and are available in many different sizes and tones.

The last type of electrical guitar is the steel guitar. Steel guitars are so different in design from traditional guitars that it requires many years of specialized training to learn to play them properly. The steel guitar was made famous by Jeff Healey and is played on its back as opposed to being strung around the player’s neck. The strings are often elevated above the fret board and allow for the use of a ‘tone bar’. A tone bar is a cylindrical tube that is worn over the middle finger of the fret hand, and provides the classical steel guitar ‘whine’. The steel guitar is most often used with country and western style music.

Regardless of whether you are looking to purchase an acoustic guitar or an electric guitar it is always advisable that you research thoroughly. Speak with employees of guitar shops and test every guitar you may be buying. Search the internet to decipher between the different manufacturers and models available until you are certain you have found the electric guitar of your dreams and then buy it!

Definitely go for a starter kit! Basses use a special type of amp, because if you plug it into a regular guitar amp, you'll most likely blow it out.

I'm a big Fender fan, so I'd suggest this pack:

It's a Fender Affinity series Jazz bass starter pack. Comes with all you need to get yourself going, for 300 dollars. Check it out, it's definitely worth it! (I own this one.)

If you'd like a bit cheaper, or you don't like Fender, this one is also great:

It's a Dean Edge bass, comes with an amp and everything else, just like the Fender pack. Look into that one as well. They're both very solid guitars, perfect for starting out.

If you can, try to see if any friends have these basses, or go to a music shop near you and try them out – see what you think!

You can use any Xbox 360 guitar controller with any of the Guitar Hero games. There are some knock-off guitars out there, and although i have not personally used them, I've been told they work just as well. Wireless is obviously more expensive so go with wired to save some money, plus the wired actually work better. Go to Target or Wal-Mart and they have the official and knock-offs there together so u can see them, but the knock-ff will work just as well. Go get your guitar and keep rocking!!!

Yeah, it’s still a game. It still has all the regular 5-button modes, plus this new Pro mode – basically it’s like if you’re playing everything on Expert and need a new challenge, here you go. It has all four difficulty levels on Pro Mode, too, so you can start with beginning and move up.

Notes or note sheets indicate the pitch and length or duration of every note in a song.
Tabs (Guitar) determine the position of every note in the guitar fret board but it does not determine the duration of the note.

If a music book is with piano/vocal/guitar, it means it has note sheets for piano, vocals (lyrics), and guitar (sometimes without tabs). Mostly, used by Pros.

For beginners, it is easy to read tabs because it tells you where you position your fingers on to the fret board. You just have to know the length or duration of every note by ear. Most music sheet include lyrics, so you will not get lost on where you are on a song.

My advice is buy the music book with notes and tabs, and HAVE FUN!!!

My cat Lestat once brought me a tissue when I was crying. He also liked incense and would bring me the pack and meow loudly to get me to light some.

Your cheapest option would be to call local junk yards and see if they have any fenders that match your car, if your lucky they may have one the same color of your car. From a junk yard it should cost between $100 and $400 for a fender depending on what kind of car you have. If you have to or want to get a new fender the cost could range from about $350 to $800 just for the fender, thats not adding in the cost to get it painted to match the car. Painting would range from $100 to $400 or so depending on the make, model, and color of your car. Also you need to make sure that all you need is a fender. If the hit was hard enough you could have bent the inner fender well also. If you try to replace the fender over a damaged inner fender well chances are it wont line up to bolt in. Then you will have to replace the inner fender well also and your talking about $500 to $900 there depending on what kind of car you have. Even if the inner fender well is bent you may get lucky and be able to get away with drilling new holes in it to get the new fender bolted on. In my professional opinion $700 might be enough if your are very fortunate and find a used fender that is the color of your car. If you find a used one that isnt the same color the cost to paint it to match your car would be more that if you bought a new fender to paint because it would have to be sanded and primered.

The Middle Voice Method is a proven training system for singers of all styles. It especially is helpful to singers who sing popular styles of music.(pop, rock, country, jazz, etc.) Training is complimented with two complete workouts for men and women.

Jazz is generally Jazz. Jazz technique is more specific, it's like pointing your foot in a pirouette, instead of doing a pirouette. The Jazz technique would be good to take as well as Jazz.

If you want an electric guitar sound from an acoustic then you must use an amplifier that's geared for the electric, not an acoustic amplifier. Simply plug in, adjust your tone and volume, and wail away.

If you are looking for a good performance from the equipment, then don't go with a value pack. I would either go with a Squier by Fender Bullet Series Stratocaster. It is a real Stratocaster, just not as expensive as the Squier Affinity series. This is $120. For a good beginner amplifier I would get a Squier or Fender 10 watt or 15 watt amp. It's good for learning, and not overwhelmingly loud. When you advance in your playing you can upgrade.

GIVE or TAKE; a steel string guitar is designed to withstand the pressure of approx. 600 lbs trying to collapse the guitar in two. The nylon ones are designed for approx. 100 lbs. You MAY be ok for a while, but it will eventually warp the neck and ruin the guitar. I say your best bet is to get THINNER steel strings at a music store and have a tech adjust your neck. Never put steel strings on a guitar designed for nylon or the other way around. And steel & nylons have very different sounds. There are even nylon and steel string brands that I prefer on my guitars that will change the tone of the guitar.
To say these strings will be better or that brand is a matter of personal preference. I will say that the thinner strings will be of less resistance to your fingers but will not have as good of tonal quality, for me I grunt through the pain and go for tone, but my finger tips are all callossed.
